Product of Stumbelbloc – Brick Mould

Stumbelbloc offers brick moulds made of plastic. These moulds are used to make interlocking blocks that you can use for any construction at your home. Interlocking blocks provide more strength to buildings than traditional bricks. The plastic moulds are divided into two parts, red and yellow. The parts are put together to fill them with a cement mixture and kept in an even place when the mixture can be hardened into a block.

    The right mixture ratio

To make the blocks strong and durable, it is crucial to mix the materials in the right ratio. You need –

    • 2.5 level full wheelbarrows building sand.
    • 13mm stone.
    • One bag 42.5 MPa cement.
    • Water as required. Spring it until the mixture achieves buttery consistency.

    Mixture and materials related tips

While the proper ratio is crucial, it is not enough to mould high-quality blocks. You must also be concerned about the materials.

    • Materials have to be clay and organic free.
    • You must not use only fine or coarse sand; the best idea is mixing them well.
    • Add 10% fine sand to the coarse sand.
    • Instead of sand, you can also use quarry dust or run.

    About Stumbelbloc:
Stumbelbloc was founded by Andre Esterhuizen. From his experience in the construction field, Andre realised that South Africa is facing problems with construction because of the extremity of temperature and scarcity of skilled labourers. So, he aimed to contribute to this industry by providing easy building solutions at low costs. This resulted in the formation of Stumbelbloc and their interlocking block design mould to make interlocking blocks.
