SBCGlobal email is a free email service initially provide the Southwestern Bell Communication, now known as SBC (abbreviation). SBCGLobal.net is an online domain name issued by Southwestern Bell Corporation. SBC later merged with AT&T in 2005, and the combined company is known as AT&T. It provides free email services with the SBCGlobal.net domain; the email addresses generally consist of a username and domain name. Since SBCGLobal.net is no longer available due to the merge between SBC & AT&T, you can only sign up at currently.att.yahoo.com. From there, you may click on the Mail option placed at the top-right corner and then select Create AT&T account. You can follow the on-screen instructions to create the account. WHAT ARE SBCGLOBAL.NET EMAIL SETTINGS?
To make an account on SBCGlobal and for it to work efficiently, you must enable proper SBCGlobal email settings on your account. Like all email clients, SBCGlobal uses IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) to retrieve messages and SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) to send emails to the other users. To set up your email account, follow the steps mentioned below.
INCOMING SERVER
The SBCGlobal.net email settings for the incoming Server is IMAP, the settings for the same are listed below.
- The Server should be imap.mail.att.net
- The Port should be 993
- The Security should be SSL/TLS
- The username and password should be as you have set before.
OUTGOING SERVER
The SBCGlobal.net email settings for the outgoing Server is SMTP, the settings for the same are listed below.
- The Server should be smtp.mail.att.net
- The Port should be 465
- The Security should be SSL/TLS
- The username and password should be as you have set before.
