In a major step to simplify travel and enhance regional connectivity, the Saudi Arabian government has introduced new e-visa options for residents of the UAE and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Effective immediately, these digital visas aim to facilitate travel for tourism, family visits, events, and religious purposes such as Umrah.
Dubai residents can now apply for a Saudi e-visa entirely online, eliminating the need to visit a Saudi embassy or consulate. To qualify, applicants must have a valid UAE residence permit with a minimum validity of three months and must be currently employed. The new visa will be valid for one year, allowing multiple entries, with each visit capped at 90 days. This flexibility supports both short-term trips and longer stays.
This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which targets attracting 100 million tourists annually. The e-visa rollout is part of broader efforts to position Saudi Arabia as a leading destination for global travelers by highlighting its rich cultural heritage, vibrant festivals, and religious landmarks.
