  • The International Trade Council (ITC) has announced a strategic partnership with Ghana Investment & Trade Week (GITW) 2026, marking the soft launch of the ITC Centre for Africa. Located in Tema, Ghana’s key port and industrial hub, the new centre will serve as a regional base for trade facilitation, business support, capacity building, and market entry services across Africa.

The partnership will be showcased during Ghana Investment & Trade Week 2026, scheduled for July 7–9 at The Palms Convention Center in Accra. A key highlight will be an exclusive evening reception on July 8 at the ITC Centre for Africa in Tema, bringing together international investors, business leaders, policymakers, and trade professionals.

Held under the patronage of the Government of Ghana, the event will feature H.E. Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, as Special Guest of Honor. Discussions will focus on industrialization, infrastructure investment, regional integration, and opportunities created by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

“Our collaboration with the International Trade Council reinforces Ghana Investment & Trade Week’s position as a leading platform for trade, investment, and business engagement in Africa,” said Zahoor Ahmed, Vice President of MIE Events. “By bringing together global chambers, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders, we are creating valuable opportunities to drive partnerships, unlock investment, and support Ghana’s vision for sustainable economic growth.”

The launch of the ITC Centre for Africa reflects Ghana’s growing importance as a gateway for international business on the continent. Positioned in Tema, the centre will provide companies with access to business incorporation support, warehousing solutions, manufacturing opportunities within Ghana’s Free Zones, and connectivity through one of West Africa’s leading deepwater ports.

“Ghana is the ideal launchpad for international businesses seeking a long-term presence in Africa,” said George Glory Opeku, Chairman of the International Trade Council Centre for Africa. “Through the Tema Centre, we are showcasing an ecosystem that helps businesses establish, grow, and access markets across the continent while benefiting from Ghana’s stable business environment and strategic location.”

The July 8 reception will offer attendees an opportunity to network with international delegates, explore partnership opportunities, and learn more about ITC’s trade facilitation initiatives and support services for companies entering African markets.

Attendance at both Ghana Investment & Trade Week 2026 and the ITC Centre for Africa soft launch events is free of charge. However, advance registration is required for security clearance and venue access.
