Highlife Health, New Rochelle’s woman-owned, family-run legal cannabis dispensary, is proud to announce the launch of a new educational initiative designed to foster true community connection and change the narrative around what cannabis dispensaries can—and should—be.

Unlike traditional businesses, licensed cannabis operators are often unable to deduct or write off charitable contributions. Despite this limitation, Highlife Health continues to invest directly in community-based programs, choosing impact over incentives and authenticity over optics. This commitment reflects the company’s belief that being a good neighbor and community partner is not optional—it is foundational.

“We believe community engagement should be genuine, not transactional,” said Jennifer Gierum, Founder & CEO of Highlife Health. “Even when the system makes it harder for cannabis businesses to give back, we do it anyway—because this plant, and this community, deserve respect, education, and care.”

Today marks the inaugural launch of Highlife Health’s Educational Series for Consumers, beginning with its first-ever Rolling Class, hosted in collaboration with Hashtag Honey and Alter Flower. The class offers hands-on instruction covering the intricacies of cannabis trimming and the art of rolling the perfect joint—demystifying a skill that has historically been passed down informally or left unexplained.

“It’s not like there has ever been a class you could take on this subject,” Gierum added. “We don’t want our customers to feel alienated or intimidated. This is about providing an opportunity to learn a skill, ask questions, and better understand our wonderful plant in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.”

The educational series is designed for consumers of all experience levels and reflects Highlife Health’s broader mission to promote safe access, informed consumption, and community empowerment through knowledge. By centering education and inclusion, Highlife Health aims to set a new standard for cannabis retail—one rooted in transparency, stewardship, and shared growth.

Additional classes and educational programming will be announced in the coming weeks.
