Press Release
Paris, July 2, 2026 – eXo Platform today announced the release of eXo Platform 7.2, a major update to its open-source digital workplace platform that brings native artificial intelligence into a unified, open, and sovereign work environment.
As organizations accelerate AI adoption, they also face growing challenges around digital fragmentation, security, and data sovereignty. Employees often switch between multiple applications to communicate, collaborate, manage content, and access information, reducing productivity and increasing complexity. eXo Platform 7.2 addresses these challenges by combining AI, collaboration, and enterprise tools into a single digital workplace.
Built around four key pillars—native AI integration, a unified work experience, enhanced collaborative workspaces, and improved content and event management—the new release helps organizations streamline work while maintaining full control over their data and infrastructure.
Artificial intelligence is now embedded directly into everyday workflows, including collaboration, communication, content creation, and knowledge management. Built on a flexible multi-LLM and multimodal architecture, the platform enables organizations to choose the AI models that best meet their security, compliance, and sovereignty requirements across cloud, private cloud, or on-premises deployments.
Version 7.2 also includes the native integration of the eXo MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server, allowing external AI assistants and automation platforms to securely access more than 100 platform tools through OAuth. Advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities ensure AI responses are grounded in organizational knowledge while respecting existing access permissions. A new prompt suggestion application and customizable AI assistants further help organizations accelerate AI adoption.
“The challenge is to integrate AI directly into everyday work rather than treating it as another standalone tool,” said Veronika Mazour Mestrallet, CEO of eXo Platform. “Our ambition is to deliver AI that understands organizational context, leverages enterprise knowledge, and supports employees while fully respecting organizations’ sovereignty and security requirements.”
Beyond AI, eXo Platform 7.2 delivers a more unified digital workplace with native email integration, a redesigned calendar, and new communication connectors that reduce context switching and improve productivity.
The release also introduces subspaces, enabling organizations to structure collaboration by department, project, region, or business unit while simplifying governance through more granular permissions and improved administration.
Communication capabilities have also been enhanced with richer publishing tools and a new event content type, allowing organizations to create, promote, and manage events directly within the platform.
Available immediately for cloud, private cloud, and on-premises deployments, eXo Platform 7.2 enables organizations to build an open, sovereign, and AI-powered digital workplace that combines flexibility, interoperability, and full control over enterprise data.
For more than 20 years, eXo Platform has provided open-source digital workplace solutions to public and private organizations worldwide, serving over one million users with a secure and sovereign alternative to proprietary collaboration platforms.
