The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism (IP&T) and the Forest Department have announced that North Cinque Island Wildlife Sanctuary will reopen for responsible day tourism starting May 15, 2025. After months of conservation work and infrastructure upgrades, the untouched island will now welcome up to 372 visitors daily.

A Unique Island Experience

North Cinque is one of the Andaman Islands’ most pristine spots. Dense evergreen forests, healthy mangrove systems, and rare native bird species thrive here. The island’s two parts are joined by a natural sandbar, which reveals itself at low tide—an iconic setting for photography.

Surrounding the island are vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life including fish, mollusks, and marine invertebrates. A century-old lighthouse offers panoramic views of the surrounding seas.
